How we compare

Specifications, then evidence, then a score

A comparison is only useful if you can see what is behind it. Every product we list carries the level of evidence we actually have.
  1. Step 1

    Record the specification

    Inseam, front and back rise, waist and hip measurements per size, fibre content, waistband construction, pockets, opacity. Sourced from the brand and dated.

  2. Step 2

    Wear it and write it down

    Hours worn, washes, the size ordered against the tester’s usual size, whether it was kept or returned, and why.

  3. Step 3

    Score with the basis shown

    Each dimension is labelled “from testing” or “from specifications”. Anything we have not measured reads “Not measured” rather than being guessed.

What a JEGINS Fit test involves

A product is only marked as tested when all of the following exist in our database.
  • A tester profile with height, waist, hip and usual size
  • At least eight recorded hours of wear, with the activities listed
  • The size ordered, next to the tester’s usual size
  • Wash count, and what changed after washing
  • Whether the item was kept or returned, and the reason
  • A named reviewer who checked the session before it was published
